May 23, 2013

Pottstown, PA— U.S. Renal Care, Inc. (“USRC”) announced it has formed a new outpatient joint-venture with Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (“PMMC”) in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.  USRC now has a controlling interest in the existing PMMC clinic, located at 1600 East High Street.  Sergio Vaisman, MD, will serve as Medical Director of the facility.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the patients of Pottstown and the surrounding communities,” said Dr. Vaisman.  “U.S. Renal Care prioritizes the highest-quality care, from state-of-the-art technology to calming clinical environments so patients can feel relaxed during treatment.  I am privileged to be part of a team that can bring patients suffering from chronic kidney disease some peace of mind.”

USRC acquired the center on March 31, 2013.  The joint-venture partnership includes USRC, PMCC and local physicians.

“We are thrilled that these outstanding healthcare providers can come together as partners,” said Sharif Omar, CEO of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.  “Together, we will meet the growing need for dialysis by offering more resources and improved access to dialysis care.”

USRC’s existing dialysis center located at 5 South Sunnybrook Road (“USRC Pottstown”) is also part of the newly formed joint-venture.  Nasrin Ashouin, MD, is Medical Director at USRC Pottstown and will continue in this role.  As of the end of first quarter 2013, USRC owns 10 freestanding outpatient dialysis centers in the state of Pennsylvania.

“U.S. Renal Care is patient-focused at every turn, and our new Pottstown facility will be no different,” said Chris Brengard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of USRC. “We are excited to build upon our existing relationships in the region to serve a greater number of patients in Southeastern Pennsylvania.”
