In-Center Hemodialysis

What is it?

With in-center hemodialysis, you will regularly travel to your dialysis center where a care team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, and social workers will deliver your therapy and work with you to ensure your care needs are met. In-center hemodialysis uses a machine and an artificial kidney, called a dialyzer or filter. The machine pumps blood through the dialyzer, removing waste and extra fluid.

The Impact of Patient Education

Bonijune's Story

Bonijune Coffaro is a USRC patient in Florida and her dialysis clinic social worker, Larissa Kisner, LCSW. Larissa provided Bonnie with support and education around access options for her dialysis treatments. Bonnie’s story illustrates the improved quality of life she has experienced since she transitioned to a fistula from a CVC. The bond that they developed over the years is a shining example of how USRC employees strive to live out our core values every day in order to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
