Community Engagement
Connect with the Kidney Care Community
Kidney disease impacts 37 million people in the United States. The kidney community is a vibrant group of people who live full lives with kidney disease.
Get involved with the kidney community
There are many opportunities for you to connect with others living with kidney disease, support research and patient care, and get involved in advocacy efforts. Here are a few easy ways to get started:
Kidney Walks
In nearly 70 communities across the country, the National Kidney Foundation hosts Kidney Walks to raise money and awareness for kidney disease. Kidney Walks are a healthy way to connect with your community. The money raised goes to research, patient services, professional education, public health education, and community services.
American Kidney Fund
The American Kidney Fund is a national, non-profit health organization dedicated to providing financial aid to dialysis patients, transplant recipients, and donors to help cover the cost of treatment-related expenses. They also provide education resources and opportunities for people to get involved in advocacy efforts on a local and national scale.
Chronic Disease Coalition
The Chronic Disease Coalition is one of the leading patient rights advocacy groups in the United States, dedicated to protecting patients from unfair policies that hurt their access to quality, affordable care. They advocate on behalf of patients and provide the education and training they need to advocate for themselves.
U.S. Renal Care’s Patient Advocacy
U.S. Renal Care is proud to work alongside fellow care providers, researchers, patients, and more to advocate on behalf of people living with kidney disease.
- The Kidney Care Council (KCC) is a nonprofit national health care association based in Washington, D.C. and comprised of 13 of the leading kidney dialysis provider companies in the United States.
