U.S. Renal Care Co-Hosts Nephrology Business Leadership Conference (NBLU)
PLANO, Texas / September 10, 2026 / — U.S. Renal Care (USRC), the nation’s fastest-growing dialysis provider and the industry leader in clinical quality and patient experience, was proud to co-host the Nephrology Business Leadership Conference (NBLU) with Dallas Renal Group and the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in Plano, TX, from August 4-9, 2026. Launched in 2016 by the three organizations, the program has since attracted fellows from more than 100 nephrology programs nationwide.
NBLU complements traditional fellowship training with practical education in the business and economics of nephrology, leadership, career development, and the evolving healthcare landscape. The hands-on program is designed to give fellows greater confidence in navigating interviews and employment opportunities, understanding reimbursement and practice models, developing leadership skills, and building mentor relationships that can continue well beyond the conference.

This year, fellows explored topics including billing and coding, value-based care, public policy, joint ventures, marketing, reimbursement and practice economics, as well as considerations for evaluating career opportunities and transitioning from fellowship into practice. The week also provided participants with direct access to practicing nephrologists, academic faculty, healthcare executives, and leaders across the kidney community, including the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP), American Society of Nephrology (ASN), National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Renal Physicians Association (RPA), and Women in Nephrology (WIN).
For the second consecutive year, ASN provided travel stipends to participating fellows, expanding access to the program. NBLU 2026 was also made possible through the support of physicians, nonprofits, industry faculty, and generous sponsors committed to the next generation of kidney care professionals.
As NBLU enters its second decade, the program continues to connect emerging nephrologists with practical knowledge, perspectives, and professional relationships that help them build successful, sustainable careers.
