U.S. Renal Care Expands Operations: Major Acquisition in San Antonio, Plans for New Facilities

JONESBORO, ARKANSAS — U.S. Renal Care Inc., a leader in providing comprehensive outpatient (kidney) dialysis treatment, announced today the acquisition of RenCare Ltd., of San Antonio, Texas along with plans to substantially expand patient care facilities in that region.

RenCare currently operates seven dialysis centers in San Antonio and Eagle Pass, Texas and three more centers for treating patients will be opened under the USRC banner, in San Antonio by early summer of this year.

The RenCare acquisition and the development of the three new centers are part of a partnership between USRC and a group of leading San Antonio nephrologists, including Carl E. Dukes, M.D., Naushad Zafar, M.D., and Rashid Sharaf, M.D. This acquisition provides U. S. Renal Care with both an immediate major presence in the growing San Antonio market and a stronger presence in the state of Texas, where the company already enjoys signifi cant market share.

With the acquisition of these Rencare facilities and the additional development, U.S. Renal Care now operates 22 dialysis clinics in Texas and Arkansas, with an additional 15 clinics in various stages of development.
