U.S. Renal Care Inc. Hires Vice President
of Clinical Operations and Director of Bio-Medical Services

DALLAS, TEXAS — U.S. Renal Care Inc., which acquires, develops and operates dialysis centers in joint venture partnerships with nephrologists, hired Karen Walton-Brown as vice president of clinical operations and Jon York as director of bio-medical services. These executives will further U.S. Renal Care’s objective to continue to provide high quality care to patients with chronic and acute renal disease.
Walton-Brown brings 30 years of nursing and nursing management experience to her position. She has spent 27 of those years in the nephrology field. Prior to joining U.S. Renal Care, she was vice president of quality for the Southwest business unit of Fresenius Medical Care. Prior to that, she was director of clinical services for Renal Care Group. She has also held management positions with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and East Texas Medical Center. Her experience includes chronic outpatient, acute inpatient, home therapy, renal transplant and pheresis. She has directed the education processes for both staff and patients as it relates to end stage renal disease.
Walton-Brown completed her bachelor of science in nursing degree at the University of Texas at Tyler and is a certified nephrology nurse. She served as president of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, East Texas Chapter, in 1993 and 1994.
Walton-Brown’s focus will be the delivery of quality care to U.S. Renal Care patients and the continued training of its clinical staff.
York joins U.S. Renal Care as director of bio-medical services. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the bio-medical field specializing in chronic hemodialysis systems. York designed the world's first and largest hemodialyzer reprocessing plant.
Prior to joining U.S. Renal Care, York was global technical director for Baxter Renal Therapy Services responsible for all technical aspects of 160 clinics in 14 countries. York graduated from Southeast College in Mobile, Ala., with a degree in bio-medical engineering, specializing in radiation oncology and hemodialysis. York is a licensed factory certified installer for GE Osmonics, Better Water Inc. and Medical Solutions International products. He also lectures internationally about bio-medical and water treatment systems for dialysis.
